Total contact casting is considered to be the gold standard for treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (wounds). It has proven to be this for good reason. It is a very fast and effective treatment for diabetic ulcers to the plantar aspect (bottom) of the foot. Approximately 90% of ulcers will completely heal within 6 weeks of treatment with an average healing time of 33 days.
